In his role with Dale Carnegie Training, Mike leads a team of consultants who partner with business leaders in Minnesota and Iowa, to help companies address challenges such as leadership development, employee engagement, and succession planning. He is passionate about understanding the specific needs of our clients before proposing any solutions, and ensuring that the work we perform aligns with a client’s vision, mission and values.
One of Mike’s client highlights, to-date, was helping a large distribution center dramatically change its culture following the repercussions of a negative review of the center, and the dismissal of the organization’s CEO. Mike led and oversaw coaching of the distribution center’s department leaders, helping them overcome barriers to team member engagement and significantly improve customer service.
From Dale Carnegie Training, Mike received the organization’s highest honor, the Award of Achievement. He has also received awards of excellence and achievement from the Iowa Motion Picture Association, the Outstanding Achievement award from United Press International, and the Award for Television Reporting from the Iowa Broadcast News Association.
After graduating from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in speech and radio/television, Mike was formerly an anchor/reporter for the top-rated television news station in Iowa. He also served as a media consultant for multiple state and national politicians.
Mike is very active in the community, chairing committees for staff/parish relations and communications at his local church, and sponsoring many organizations, including the YMCA Youth Partners Campaign, Gigi’s Playhouse for Down Syndrome Awareness, Autism Speaks, and the Variety Club of Central Iowa. He is an active member of the Iowa Association of Business & Industry, and a member of the Urbandale Chamber of Commerce.
In his personal time, Mike loves spending time with his wife and three children, riding horses and working out.
